  • Street Restaurant, Belfast — and Wow, Did They Deliver! From first bite to last, this was a meal to remember. We kicked things off with a trio of standout starters: • Thai Chilli Beef – crispy, spicy perfection that packed a punch • Crispy Fishcakes – golden on the outside, flaky on the inside, paired with a dreamy black pepper mayo • Goat’s Cheese Fritters – rich, creamy, and completely addictive (yes, they’re as good as they sound) For mains, the Slow-cooked Beef Brisket was an absolute winner. Melt-in-the-mouth tender with deep, rich flavour—an easy 10/10. And then came the pan-seared salmon. Just wow. Perfectly cooked with a crisp skin and moist, flaky flesh, it was served atop a rich, velvety cream sauce with vibrant greens, smoky chorizo, sun-dried tomatoes and buttery mash. Finished with a fresh lemon wedge and pea shoots, it had that zingy lift that made every bite sing. My wife won’t stop going on about this dish. Her words? “Amazing. Faultless.” (And I have to agree.) For dessert, we treated ourselves to two indulgent classics: • Sticky Toffee Pudding – rich, sticky, and generously soaked in butterscotch sauce, topped with creamy vanilla ice cream and a fresh strawberry • Lemon Posset – smooth, tangy, and utterly refreshing, finished with berry compote and served alongside a scoop of ice cream in a sweet little ramekin This meal struck the perfect balance between hearty and fresh, sweet and savoury—a properly satisfying experience worth repeating. Honestly, the salmon alone is reason enough to come back. Highly recommend Hope Street Restaurant if you’re after proper flavour, warm vibes, and beautifully presented. This place is a MUST VISIT when your in Belfast!

  • Delicious food! We also got a complimentary starter. The only thing is the ventilation of the restaurant can be better. Quite smoky inside the restaurant which made our eyes tearing ( also our clothes smelly afterwards)

  • The place provides a BYO service, so you can bring your wine for example, pretty cool idea - not so common where I live. Cozy, intimate with a very good selection of classical music. About the food: we ordered Thai Chili and Goat fritters as starters, both pretty delicious. For the main course we asked the Pork Belly and Daube of Beef and again the quality surprised both of us, the first was tender and the latter was so juicy! We were both full of food and to our surprise, as a compliment from the chef, we were appreciated with a delicious sticky toffee pudding! Highly recommended!!!

  • Possibly one of the best value fine dining experiences I've had My server was Michael and he was excellent. Very patient but also polite and cordial. I had the following dishes; Thai chilli beef as a starter (complimentary) Confit Pork belly as a main Chips as a side. Sticky toffee pudding as dessert. The Thai chilly beef was probably my favourite dish despite the fact I hadn't ordered it. They utilised the sweet chilli sauce as a garnish which I felt was brilliant because it allowed me to control how much I wanted on the beef. The pork belly was also incredible and i was very pleasantly surprised by the mash which I wasn't expecting to be as flavourful as it was. Also the gravy was exquisite. The chips while good felt lacking in flavour compared to the rest of the meal and they defo could have done with a small amount of Cajun rub or some other sauce or seasoning given their price point and the rest of the items on the menu. Finally the sticky toffee pudding was perfect. A very healthy amount of sauce and a reasonably sized scoop of ice cream. If ever I'm back in Belfast or I'm asked to make a recommendation the hope Street restaurant will be at the top of my list. I sincerely thank Michael and the hope Street restaurant for serving me.

  • We booked online at 4.30pm.anr received prompt reply to confirm our booking. We had a reservation for 5.30 (eating early with kids) and don't realise that between 5 and 6.30 the menu is the "pre theatre menu'. We'd each already picked dishes we wanted from the a la carter menu that weren't available on the pre theatre. The waiter was able to allow us to order the dishes we wanted early. We also appreciated the extra large sharing bottle of chilled water. Staff were amazing, food was delicious. Thanks again

  • A true hidden gem in Belfast!! The restaurant itself strikes up the perfect atmosphere for the most devine food. It is an cosy and intimate venue which makes you feel relaxed ahead of the experiencing the most amazing food. We had the most attentive host in Matthew. He ensured we were looked after and couldn't do anymore to assist us if he tried. After ordering our mains were we told we had been given the sweet chilli beef starter free of charge. The most devine coating on the perfectly cooked beef was made even better by the sweet chilli sauce. Our mains arrived and we couldn't believe our eyes. My fiance had ordered the salmon and he could not have rated it any higher. He even made yummy noises whilst devouring it. Very flakey and moist. I had ordered the 10oz steak and granted it was a bit of a splurge but after a long day being a tourist in Belfast I decided to treat myself. Ordering this was the best decision I had made all holiday. I asked for it medium rare and it truly was medium rare. The beef was so tender it just melted in your mouth. Cooked to perfection I was hoping it would never end. I thought it couldn't get any better but the peppercorn sauce took this dish to another level. Easily the best steak I have ever had.

  • My first visit to this restaurant and enjoyed an exceptional Xmas dinner. My expectations were exceeded and I was very impressed - absolutely blown away by the food and their hospitality. I will definitely be paying another visit very soon to try their Á La Carte and Pre-theatre menus. I can highly recommend it.
